Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City half day city tour (L) |
Breakfast at hotel. We start our tour with a visit to the Reunification Palace which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975. Close to this sight are some of the best French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Saigon Post Office, City Hall, Thien Hau temple and China town (Binh Tay market) Visit the Jade Emperor Pagoda, the War Remnant and the bustling Ben Thanh Market. Here anything and everything is for sale. |
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Xeo Quyt - Chau Doc (L) |
8h00 Pick up at hotel. Stop in My Hiep to take a 2-hour boat trip cruising through RUNG TRAM FOREST which was used by so - called VIET CONG ARMY during the anti -American war time as a base called XEO QUYT.That was a vast forest with deserted canal surrounded by aquatic grass and plants, tall trees and vines. See the making of incense sticks. Overnight in Chau Doc. |
Day 3: Chau Doc - Can Tho (B, L) |
Breakfast at hotel. Take 2 -hours boat trip to see FLOATING HOUSES with caged fish breeding, a village of Cham ethnic minority, Moslem pagoda, towel weaving.Visit Lady of CHUA XU temple. Admire Vietnam - Cambodia border from the top of Sam mountain. See a STORK SANCTUARY.Overnight in Can Tho. |
Day 4: Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City (B) |
See round CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET, a vermicelli making shop and a rice husking mill. Take a 2 and a half hour boat trip to see the peaceful scenes and tranquil life in rural Vietnam with thatched cottages and orchards. Lunch at garden restaurant. Return to Saigon. End tour. |
Day 5: Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels - Cao Dai Temple (L) |
The head quarter of Cao Dai sect is located in Tay Ninh. This religion was founded in 1923 and now numbers over 2 million members. After breakfast, we travel by roads to Tay Ninh to see the ornate temple of Cao Dai and attend the fantastic mid-day service when the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of the curious combination of the Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. Afterwards we continue to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, which were an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, plus accommodation and schools, and were used as a military base for the Viet Cong in the American war. Stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh City. End of service |
